Dr. Browne is a licensed acupuncturist and registered professional herbalist. She earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Five Branches University in San Jose, CA and her acupuncture degree from Dragon Rises College in Gainesville, FL. She began organic herb farming in 1983 and has been a holistic health and herbal educator for over three decades-see expansive bio here!
Your lead instructor’s history and experience spanning the evolution of natural medicine in the US beginning as a modest organic herb farmer and growing into a holistic healthcare professional serving in hospitals and mainstream medicine. Danielle Nelson, RN
Mykal Stanley, Psy.D.
Dr. Stanley completed her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at Wright State University and master’s degree in Community Counseling at West Virginia University. In 2010, Dr. Stanley completed her doctoral degree at James Madison University in a Combined-Integrated Program for Clinical and School Psychology. After graduation, Dr. Stanley worked with both adults and children within a private practice setting prior to accepting a full-time position with VA Butler Healthcare in 2012. Her primary focus of treatment was providing trauma-focused treatment to veterans in an outpatient mental health setting.
Currently, Dr. Stanley provides specialized knowledge and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of complex chronic pain disorders and related health issues, including identification and treatment of behavioral and mental health concerns within the context of chronic medical illness. Responsibilities within the Whole Health Integrative Pain Care team also include providing specialized biobehavioral services, promoting Wellness programming, and facilitation of employee educational Whole Health services within the Salisbury VA Health Care System.
William VanNess III MD, FAAPMR
William C. VanNess, III, MD, received his degree from DePauw University, earned his Medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, completed his internship at Ball Memorial Hospital and his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency at Frazier Rehabilitation Institute. He is Board Certified in PM & R.
As a pain management specialist, Dr. VanNess has championed decades of providing non-narcotic, non-opioid treatment protocols for his patients. He often uses aquapuncture with injections at pressure points and is now offering acupuncture services to his patients. He is a pioneer in the field of integrative medicine with priceless insights.
Katherine Kendrick Ziff, PhD
Dr. Ziff earned her PhD in Counseling from Ohio University. She spent twenty-five years as a licensed mental health counselor and licensed school counselor practice in both OH and NC. Other experience includes faculty (retired): Wake Forest University (Three years as assistant professor/Counseling); Ohio University (10 years adjunct faculty/Counseling); Licensed Professional Counselor (Ohio, Lic. #C.0600008).
She is also a Certified Flower Essence Practitioner (Flower Essence Society) and has spent seven years as a flower essence practitioner and maker in practice in Athens, Ohio: Briarwood Studios Flower Essences (2012 – present). She often presents classes for Plant Savers Society.
